How To Stop Google Analytics To Track Your Own Visits To Your Site/Blog

People create websites and blogs and do lots of hard work to get good visits. So it is important to use good tool to get correct and clear visitors statistics of your blog and website. For this purpose you can use Google Analytics to track your blog/website visits. It is a free tool provided and owned by Google, so you can rely upon it.

But there is a problem with Google Analytics and other tools that track visits, which is this, that they also track your own visits. For example if you are writing an article on your blog and you are previewing it from time to time then these tracking tools will also track your visits. So you will not get the exact stats of visitors.

So what you can do to prevent Google Analytics tracking your own visits to your blogs and websites. Fortunately there is way through which you can stop Google Analytics to track your visits. You have to apply filters and it is done. Follow the steps below to stop tracking your visits.

Go to your Analytics account and log into your account and go to your profile. Go to your settings, it will open your settings page. From there you can set filter.

Under Settings go to Filters tab and from there fill the followings:

• Filter Name- You can set any name for example, my blog, your name, or whatever.

• Filter Type- Choose Custom filter and under that check on Exclude, because you want to exclude your visits.

• Filter Field- Select Visitor IP Address

• Filter Pattern- In this field enter your IP address.

Gogle Analytics Filter
In order to get correct IP address expression go to this link and enter your IP address in the first box. It will generate the correct expression. Copy and paste that in the Filter Pattern box and you're done.
