If you remember the WWDC 2012 event, the Cupertino-based company talked about its next version of mobile operating system called iOS 6. Apple mentioned that its new firmware version would have about 200 features and all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users would find them useful and interesting.
Of course, Apple said nothing about the exact iOS 6 launch date. That is why experts, analysts and users keep wondering and guessing when this can happen.
iOS 6 Release Date Suggestions
Many clues suggest that Apple will follow its traditions and present its next software closer to the date of the official iPhone 5 release which should happen in San Francisco this week. Some iOS developers have even started to update their iPhone applications. They are most likely preparing for the iOS 6 release date and wish to quickly perform their iOS Compatibility Update. One of the developers we talk about is OMGPOP known for his Draw Something program.Previous Experience
Let’s go back in time. Last year the iOS 5 was launched a couple of days after Apple presented its iPhone 4S. The release of this smartphone was planned afterwards. Maybe this year the Cupertino tech giant will act the same way.
People believe that this year the iPhone 5 release is planned for September 21st. If it is true then the iOS launch date is pegged in between September 12th and 21st. Which devices will this update touch? Of course, it should be launched for iPads, iPods touch and iPhones. Surely, not all models will be able to get a full-fledged iOS 6 upgrade since they might not have the required powerful features.
Thus some applications will be missing. For example, the second-generation iPad won’t get Siri and other devices might lack the new Maps program, etc.Hopefully Apple has planned the iOS 6 release date for this September. It should happen so soon that we won’t notice how quickly the final day arrives. We should also hope that Apple has enough time to prepare its servers for multiple downloads of the software and users won’t experience problems like they did last year.
Update: Please note that Apple has confirmed to release iOS 6 on September 19th 2012.
