Will Google Glass Outweigh The VOIP Calls Made With Smart Phones?

Google Glass is certainly one of the best communication devices that have been launched in this decade. It is a wearable glass which is also a computer. It has optimal head set mounted display and has various other promising features.

The glass displays data in a smart phone based environment and can interact through the internet via language commands.

The device is one of the most beloved technologies today and its was first introduced in 2012. The public loves new devices and they certainly enjoyed how this hands-free machine can work just like a smart phone. It can also perform several other tasks such as taking pictures, translating messages, managing navigation, playing videos, and accepting calls.

Of course, since the device is yet to be developed by Google, VoIP is still the widely accepted medium. Companies utilize VoIP in order to communicate and send various forms of media through internet connection.

It is still easier for the public, especially those who cannot afford Google Glass, to communicate through Voice over IP. However, Google Glass is being developed rapidly and more labels are attracted to it. Recently, Google announced that they will be partnering with Ray-Ban in order to create fashionable glasses fitted with the device.

Sooner or later, users will be able to talk with other people while wearing their fashionable sunglasses at the beach. It is quite possible that Google Glass will signal the death of many devices, including smartphones. With partners like Ray-Ban, Google Glass will be able to provide a fashionable look for its device.

In fact, Google has also confirmed that the glasses will not only be fashionable but can also be fitted with other lenses and frames in order to match with the wearer’s prescription. Therefore, users can actually utilize it in order to read or to work as normal prescribed glasses.

Again, since Google Glass is still in its early development and its price is still high, VoIP and smartphones still dominate the technological industry. Google Glass has also its basic flaws such as its camera app and its voice control mechanism.

For instance, users will be able to snap at a picture at the right moment yet they will have a hard time taking a picture of themselves, whereas in VoIP, users can communicate easily while at the same time send streaming videos and pictures of themselves.  Since the device is also voice controlled, it will be very hard for those who have weak voices or those who are already attuned to typing.

Giants such as Samsung and Skype are still ahead of the industry since they are still the widely accepted brands for business industries. Users are already more than capable of using phones and are more at ease with the use of their common devices.

Google Glass might be a completely effective technology which can revolutionize the communications industry but it still needs to cross out its many flaws. Perhaps someday, there will be a change with the development of the glasses which will then change the way we communicate and the way that we interact with the world. Till then, there seems to be no danger to the VOIP and smartphone territory.
