From last week we've seen couple of smartphones based on Firefox OS, and now Spice has launched the Fire One Mi-FX 1. The smartphone is available at an interestingly low price of Rs. 2,299 MOP (market operating price), and the company has said that the Fire One Mi-FX 1 will be initially available at Snapdeal; however it will later be made available via more e-commerce websites.
Remember it's not a high-end device, nor an upper mid-range, but a lower mid-range smartphone and Spice says that the Fire One Mi-FX 1 is targeted at nearly 85-90 percent of feature phone users who want to switch to affordable smartphones.
The cheapest Firefox OS smartphone currently available in India is the Intex Cloud FX which is priced at Rs. 1,999, and the specs of Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 and Intex Cloud FX are almost same. The Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320x480 pixel) display and powered by a 1GHz (unspecified chipset) processor.
It sports a 1.3-megapixel rear shooter, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera and packs a 1400mAh battery. The Spice Fire One Mi-FX offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) capability; however, only 2G connectivity is available. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, multiple language support (Hindi, Tamil, and Bangla), and FM radio.
Commenting on the launch, Prashant Bindal, Chief Executive Officer, Spice Mobility Ltd, said, "With the ultra-low cost Spice Fire One, we at Spice, aim to convert the feature phone users into smartphone users, thereby, aiding them with the power of internet.

Spice has partnered with Aircel to offer 1GB of free data (2G) for first three months with purchase of the Fire One Mi-FX 1 Firefox phone.
