How to Write an Effective Marketing Blog Post?

In this advanced age of online buying and selling, many businesses have realized that only advertising via conventional means is not enough.

Social media and the internet have opened up new avenues for companies to not only advertise their products and services, but they can also engage customers and get feedback, all this without spending big bucks. Of course, there is a catch.

As there are thousands of businesses on the World Wide Web trying to get the attention of the consumer, it proves to be hard to be THE ONE that breaks through the clutter!

Writing a blog post

Companies have realized that a blog is a good way to not only capture the attention of users, but also communicate with them and advertize at the same time. But, again writing just a blog is not enough. You need to stand out.

Here are a few tips that can help you to write blog posts that are interesting as well as alluring.

Keep in mind your customer:

The first thing you need to remember is your consumer. The topic of the blog post as well as the content should be directly related to your target market.

Just like in traditional means of advertising, you identify your consumer, their tastes and interests, it is highly critical that before writing a blog post, you do the same and identify your audience. Otherwise, writing about general stuff that does not appeal to your target market will be a waste of time.

Your research should be thorough:

After you have finalized your topic, you should focus on the content. You must have heard that in a blog post, content is the king. So your content should be well researched and well thought out.

Moreover, your content should be attention grabbing. As mentioned earlier, with a plethora of businesses trying the attention of the consumer has given the consumers many options. If your post does not appeal to them after reading the first two three lines, they will move on.

Don’t forget that your content should also be useful to the consumer. Otherwise, they will not come back!

Content is the king, but visuals matter too!

After you have mastered your content and finalized it, you should focus on the visual aids. The great thing about marketing via blog posts is that you can add relevant pictures as well as videos that will help your consumers and grab their attention.

So, try to make your blog post visually appealing by using images and videos. Also, make headings, sub headings and different categories on your blog post so that it looks organized.

Optimize your post:

The most important element of your blog post is that it must be SEO optimized. You have to include keywords, but don’t cram them.

Add a meta description, about 150 to 160 characters long.
And last but not the least, make your website mobile optimized so that customers can access your website and post via their handheld devices too, this will help you to increase your click rate.
