So it is no surprise that the Big Apple hosts a lot of events. Of course, not all of them are going to be worth attending, and filtering out the more notable conferences on topics like marketing are beneficial before buying a ticket to any one.
These are perhaps the most notable currently scheduled in New York City marketing events.
1. Inbound Marketing Summit (IMS)
While currently over for the year, 2014's event is just around the corner and is sure to be announced soon. Anyone who wants a more broad conference that covers all inbound marketing rather than just content or social media will enjoy this series.
While it does cover the latest trends in social strategies, content marketing as a standard principle and following current projections, it also deals with branding, email marketing, mobile matters, Social CRM and a lot more. Make sure to check often to find out when their next conference will be held, though it is most likely going to be the Spring/Summer of 2014.
2. Search Marketing Expo (SMX) East
Most people have heard of the SMX conference series, which are held all over the world. They come every year, and next year will be sure to have another New York event (presumably September 30-October 2, 2014).
They are massive, professionally targeted, and aimed and providing useable tactics to improve both web traffic and sales conversions. SMX is different in that it assumes you want results as quickly and efficiently as possible. No frills or bells and whistles. Just quickfire, immediately applicable device and useful lectures/workshops on the topic of search marketing for the busy professional.
3. SES New York
SES is a huge series, and usually one of the first ones brought up when discussing any kind of conference on marketing. Like SMX, it is aimed at experienced professionals rather than beginners or laymen that are more advanced in business but not quite up to speed on online marketing tactics and basics.
New York is one of their static locations, so they will be back in 2014 in March 31-April 3. They also have events every year in Chicago, Singapore, London, Jakarta, Shanghai, Toronto, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Berlin.
4. Ad Tech New York
It is almost time for Ad Tech New York, which will be hosted November 2014. It is also another large scale series with events all over the world. They run annually in Bangalore, Beijing, Singapore, London, San Francisco, Australia, Tokyo, New Delhi and Kyushu along with New York.
What this conference is usually known for is their keynotes, which are given by interesting choices you wouldn't normally see at other events. For example, this year will be Kevin Jonas or the Disney formed band The Jonas Brothers. Ad Tech is great for people who like to think outside the box.
5. LGBT Marketing Conference
Right now and in the near future, LGBT issues are front and center. Marketing to members of the public who are also members of the gay community presents a whole new demographic to master. This conference is all about marketing to that audience, new branding methods and other issues involved in LGBT business. It is a one day conference that will be held on April 24, 2014 from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM. It will have a luncheon and reception included.
Traveling in NYC
