Forecasted Malware in 2012
Currently the Android OS is the most highly attacked OS and it will be hit more seriously as time passes and hackers identify ways to penetrate into the OS. There will be an increase in malware activities in the Play Market. Although Google has been trying to verify its app’s the step would take a lot of time and Google can’t penetrate into every application that’s available on the internet.
Apart from Android, Windows 7 and Apple’s iOS won’t suffer much damage. The Windows 7 isn’t too highly referred in the market and hence it has a low risk of malware attacks. The iOS on the other hand will not be highly affected due to malware as well. Although two malware programs were identified by Apple as they penetrated into cracked devices, they were demolished from the Apple hub and didn’t do much damage.
Once mobile malware is done, there will be a significant increase in internet hacking as well. Already hackers have hacked into various portals; FOX News and CNBC fell prey to hacker attacks as they seized the Twitter accounts and posted fake content. This will further increase and hackers will also try to penetrate into official government institutions as well as business portals to create losses.
User’s are also expected to be targeted as data theft and cloud attacks are increasing, the best example is Dropbox. Consumer’s and their use of applications will cause both mobile’s and Laptop’s/PC’s to falter due to loopholes in systems and application designing so in case you’re about to download Flash player or a spyware application such as parental control software or Nokia spy, then make sure it’s safe or you could end up being a victim of an internet malware breach.
