Yet another year is coming towards the end and it has been quite an eventful year. We saw some interesting releases that wowed us and a few that fell short of our expectations. It has been a bountiful year for gamers with many gaming tablets releasing.

Some of them offered power packed performances which is a dream come true for every gamer. Here is a list of some of the best gaming tablets of the year 2012:

The iPad 4:

I have added a ‘the’ before Apple’s tablet as it is still the reigning King of tablets. The competitors are yet to match the performance and User Interface of the iPads. Though it is not as cheap as the other android devices, it is worth every penny you pay. The 4th generation especially has been made more robust and it offers the best gaming experience. The only drawback for many will be its price.

Google’s Nexus 7:

Who would have thought Google would enter the tablet market? The Nexus 7 came into the market with a bang. The price is extremely enticing and it has become a game changer in the tablet market. It provides a smooth gaming experience and a high-resolution IPS screen. Though the price is economical, the performance or the features have not been compromised.

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700:

This tablet from Asus has definitely raised the bar when it comes to design and performance of an android device. The company has revamped the tablet’s back panel and has improved the connectivity.

You not only get one of the best performances, but you get to play with one of the best-designed tablets. Infinity offers a complete package which is not available on other android tablets. It is yet another good option for gamers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1:

Samsung is definitely bringing back the ‘pen’ concept into fashion. It has a highly customizable Operating System (Android 4.0). The tablet comes with the smoothest performance and the size of the note is just right for handy games. It comes with motion detector which makes it a good choice for gaming.

iPad Mini:

Apple finally jumped into the miniature tablet market with their iPad Mini. It is a premium small tablet you can get in the market. With 7.9 inch screen and premium software back-up, it makes an ideal combination for gamers.

A disadvantage is that the price of the Mini is not exactly reasonable. Many feel that if they have to invest in Mini, they can might as well pitch in a few more bucks and get the iPad or other tablet options.

These are some of the nest gaming tablets that were released in the year 2012. The technology world is definitely picking up pace. From just two or three releases a year, we now have hundreds of releases a year. The more the competition is, the more options users have.

Gamers don’t have to be restricted to their PCs and Xboxes any longer. Tablets also provide the performances offered by these devices. Will 2013 bring in more gaming tablet options? Let’s wait and see.
