2 Second Tier Smartphones Compared - Panasonic Eluga Vs Acer Liquid Glow

Panasonic Eluga
Operating on the Android Gingerbread Operating System, which is not the best software in the world, but pretty good all the same, the Panasonic Eluga has a great design which looks really stylish in any pocket, from student to business user.

The handset itself has 8Gb storage space but no provision for a memory card, so for heavy users of the camera, or for those who download songs, this will probably not last very long at all. The 4.3 inch screen is clear and easy to read. One really good feature of this phone is that it is waterproof up to 1 metre, so if it is accidentally dropped in a puddle unlike almost every other model, it will still be functional.

The camera is a good device for taking both clear shots and great quality video. The camera has a resolution of 8MP and has an autofocus feature. It does however have the geo-tagging facility and the touch focus function.

There is no radio on this handset but it is possible to download music for playback. The battery is good on a full charge, you can get around 4 hours of continuous talk time, or around 300 hours when left on standby, although when using apps and browsing features the battery will be used up just that little bit quicker.

The Panasonic Eluga falls into the mid-range price category meaning it is not the most expensive on the market, but might be a little too costly for those who are looking for a simple handset on a tight budget. It does pack an awful lot into its tiny casing so is worth the money spent on it.

Overall, the Panasonic Eluga is a great buy, it is also manufactured by one of the top brand names in the world of electronics and so the quality is all but guaranteed.

Acer Liquid Glow
The Acer Liquid Glow has a great design that makes it ideal for youngsters and business users alike. Not unlike other smartphones on the market, this is the perfect handset for those who want to have the look of the top of the range phone but for a much smaller budget. Complete with the Android Operating System it is possible to whizz through the menus can connect the internet without a hitch.

One of the best features of the Acer Liquid Glow is the camera function which has a good resolution of 5MP. The flash is a good function too as taking shots at night is now much easier and images become much clearer.

Video calling is a breeze with the front facing camera although it is let down by only having 500MB internal memory. This will not be enough for most phone users. There is a card slot for those who wish to expand the memory for storage of images or music.

Another downside to this handset is that it operates 3G and not the more up to date 4G, however, it is only fair to mention that the overall quality of the handset is not unduly affected by this, and anyone in the market for a good solid handset packed with features should really consider the Acer Liquid Glow as it is a great option.

Overall it can really hold its own in today’s very competitive market.
