High-Tech Chairs: What is the Next Level?

Everyone knows what a chair is for or do you? Chairs now are a far cry from their humble beginnings. In the past a chair only provided a seat, now they help you exercise, play games and more. And that’s only the start.

Gaming
Remember when a game chair meant a pillow with shaped arms so you could lean on it and rest your arms? Usually it was just thrown on the floor. Of course there was a homemade version too .You made it by throwing the sofa cushions in the floor.

When playing computer games the best you could hope for was a high back cushioned office chair. Now game chairs look like something out of a science fiction movie. The Emperor 200 gaming chair for example looks somewhat like a curved scorpion but that’s the least of its cool factor.

Relaxing
It’s time for your game or favorite TV show or maybe some time with a good book. You reach down to pull the lever or push the button on your recliner but it’s gone Oh that’s right, you recently changed to a high-tech recliner, no buttons or levers needed.

Instead these powerful recliners are remote controlled usually with the back, the seat and footrest controlled separately. No worries if the power goes out or the batteries die. The chair will return to upright position on its own.

High-tech chairs evolve quickly as our technology changes quickly so new concepts are only as far away as the next year or less. For example in 2014-2015, a company in Germany is planning the debut of their high tech offering of an arm chair that also allows you to exercise as it monitors your health.

This chair has extensions to row like a rowboat to keep you fit. Then the chair gathers info on your blood pressure, heart rate and more and sends it to your TV or smart device so you can see how your workout went.

In the future high-tech will become part of modern life much the way the computer has before it. Every area of our lives is poised on the edge of new discoveries and experiences all through the formerly humble chair.
