What You Must Know About Microsoft Surface Before You Buy

Microsoft saw all of the success Google, Apple and Amazon were having with their tablets, so they decided to release a tablet of their own called Microsoft Surface. Microsoft Surface runs on the new Widows RT operating system.

Microsoft Surface has several unique features that you can not find on any other tablet, but does the tablet warrant a purchase when you account for all of the problems you will experience?

The 32 GB Microsoft Surface tablet is currently available for $500.000, and it will cost $100.00 more if you want the touch keyboard cover included with your purchase. Microsoft has been heavily marketing the touch keyboard cover, and it it one of the best features on the tablet.

It may take awhile to get used to the keyboard, but you will be typing at normal speed once this happens. The lack of a physical keyboard has made it nearly impossible to use a tablet for business, but Microsoft has seemed to fix that problem.

Microsoft Surface features a 10.6 inch screen that displays everything in perfectly clear high definition. There is nothing too unique about the display since high definition screens are included in nearly every high quality tablet on the market.

The is highlighted by the beautiful Windows RT operating system. The operating system gives the Microsoft Surface the best home screen display you will find on any tablet available today. While the Windows RT operating system is beautiful to look at, it has several major drawbacks that drastically hurt the quality of the Microsoft Surface.

The operating system is extremely new, so there is a good chance that you will experience some bugs before they can be patched by Microsoft. Since this operating system has never been used by anyone before, there is also a rather steep learning curve. The time it takes you to get used to the operating system will all depend on how skilled you are with technology.

If you are looking for a tablet with an enormous selection of apps, then the Microsoft Surface is definitely not for you. The Microsoft Surface tablet uses the relatively new Windows app store, which just can not compete with Google and Apple on app selection.

One of the best things about tablets is being able to use all of your favorite apps on a large screen, but there is a good chance that the Windows app store is going to be missing an app you are looking forward to using. The only benefit of the Windows app store is the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint on the Surface tablet.

Microsoft is clearly trying to give users that prefer Windows to Mac a high quality tablet option besides the iPad, but they did not succeed. Both tablets are the exact same size and are available at a similar price point, but the benefits of the iPad clearly outnumber the benefits of the Surface.

The iPad is probably the only tablet on the market that can say it has a better display that the Microsoft Surface. The app selection and battery life are also drastically better on the iPad. The Microsoft Surface is a decent tablet, but you should look elsewhere when buying a tablet. The price is just too steep to have to deal with the problems with the operating system and lack of apps.
