There are so many incredible increases in smartphone tech these days that it’s easy to become overwhelmed by it and decide that new technology upgrades are all the same.
This isn’t the case though, and people might be pretty surprised about what they may be pulling out of their pocket the next time they buy a phone following the HTC One and the Iphone5S.
Augmented reality essentially means that by looking through computer aided glasses or other technology, you can see information about the world around you. So, you can use the glasses to look at a particular building and suddenly see a ton of information about what’s in the building, what products the stores inside sell, its Wikipedia page, and just about anything else you can think of under the sun.
It’s possible to do this through a phone’s camera even now, but it’s not nearly as convenient as just having glasses sitting on your head so you don’t have to walk around everywhere staring through a 4 inch screen.
This has a lot of implications and possible applications in the long run. For example, you can have entire games that take place in augmented realities in the real world. Business meetings that take place in reality could allow for people to show each other extensive presentations in an augmented other space using phones.
But in time it could become a reality, and the options for it are practically limitless. You can wrap it around your wrist and wear it to the office, for example. You wouldn't have to worry about going in and out of your pocket all day.
That way you can watch movies, play games, or project entire business meetings for video conferencing. You’ll have the benefit of a large screen without actually needing to lug one around with you everywhere you go. Some projector phones may be able to read your movements as well to allow you to interact with projected images.
The possibilities for business applications with technologies such are these will be limited only by people’s imaginations.

Augmented Reality and Glasses
It may very well be that your next phone won’t be a phone at all. Augmented reality is here, and products like Google Glass are giving us a sneak preview into wear communication and mobile computing is going next. The answer is starting to look like it’s going to travel to our eyes in the form of glasses.Augmented reality essentially means that by looking through computer aided glasses or other technology, you can see information about the world around you. So, you can use the glasses to look at a particular building and suddenly see a ton of information about what’s in the building, what products the stores inside sell, its Wikipedia page, and just about anything else you can think of under the sun.

Virtual World
This means that new devices will let you tap into virtual worlds that are pulled over the real world. So for example, you might look through your phone at a particular alley wall, and see “virtual graffiti” there. People can leave messages that are coded to a certain GPS location and if you go to that location and look through something that has augmented reality capability, you’ll be able to see the message. This has a lot of implications and possible applications in the long run. For example, you can have entire games that take place in augmented realities in the real world. Business meetings that take place in reality could allow for people to show each other extensive presentations in an augmented other space using phones.
Flexible Phones
The next time you make a business grade VoIP call in the future, it could very well be on a phone that’s as flexible as cellophane. You could be unfolding your phone like a napkin instead of carefully sliding it out of your pocket. An example of this technology is the Nokia Morph, which is still currently just a theoretical device. But in time it could become a reality, and the options for it are practically limitless. You can wrap it around your wrist and wear it to the office, for example. You wouldn't have to worry about going in and out of your pocket all day.
Projector Screens
There are already devices that will let you project your computer screen onto a wall instead of getting it through a monitor. But these currently have to be connected with another device like a PC or laptop in order to work. But in the future, it may very well be that your phone will have a projector in it so that you can just project your smartphone’s screen onto a convenient blank wall. That way you can watch movies, play games, or project entire business meetings for video conferencing. You’ll have the benefit of a large screen without actually needing to lug one around with you everywhere you go. Some projector phones may be able to read your movements as well to allow you to interact with projected images.
