Asus has opened preorders for the ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W, a new 27-inch 1440p Tandem OLED gaming monitor that reaches an incredible “720Hz refresh rate” -currently the highest in the world.
This model uses a second-generation Tandem OLED panel (two stacked OLED layers) to achieve higher brightness and much longer lifespan than single-layer OLEDs. Asus rates the panel at “2,000 nits peak HDR brightness” (1,000 nits full-screen sustained) and claims a typical lifespan of over “100,000 hours” before noticeable burn-in risk.
Key specifications:
- “Panel”: 27-inch WOLED (QD-OLED alternative), 2560 × 1440 resolution
- “Refresh rate”: 720Hz native (also supports 480Hz, 360Hz, 240Hz modes)
- “Response time”: 0.03 ms GtG
- “Contrast”: Infinite (true blacks)
- “HDR”: DisplayHDR True Black 400 + VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification
- “Color”: 99% DCI-P3 coverage
- “Connectivity”: DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 (80 Gbps), 2× HDMI 2.1, USB-C (90W PD), USB hub
- “Features”: ROG Smart KVM, ELMB Sync, OLED Anti-flicker 2.0, uniform brightness setting, custom heatsink + graphene film cooling
The monitor also includes “ROG OLED Care Pro” – an advanced pixel-cleaning and compensation system that runs automatically and manually to minimise burn-in risk, even during long static HUD sessions.
Preorders are live now on Asus ROG Online Store, Amazon, Newegg, and select retailers. Pricing starts at “$1,299” in the US and €1,399 in Europe, with shipping expected to begin in late February / early March 2026.
This is the second 720Hz monitor announced (after MSI’s MPG 272QR X50), but Asus is the first to reach the preorder stage. Early hands-on impressions from CES 2026 praised the motion clarity as “almost unreal” at 720Hz, though most games still struggle to push that frame rate even on RTX 5090-class GPUs.
If you play competitive shooters at 1440p and want the absolute smoothest motion possible, the PG27AQWP-W is shaping up to be one of the most extreme gaming displays of 2026. Preorder links are live – stock is expected to be limited at launch.
