BlackBerry Z10 - A Great Phone, But Is It Enough?

The modern design of the new phone from Blackberry, the Z10, is impressive. Early impressions show a sleek, modern and highly professional touchscreen device. It has an operating system that is up to date in the market with 4G LTE.

BlackBerry have got the virtual keyboard just right, but will it draw users from iPhone and Android users that are incredibly loyal to their current operating system. The short answer is probably not.

A Good Blackberry

The phone probably won't bring users across from iPhone and from Android, but it will be a massive boost for a BlackBerry hungry fans. The 8 mega pixel camera has editing tools built into it. The keyboard is easy to use and voice chat is fantastic.

Certainly, this phone offers a revolution in terms of BlackBerry features and performance. The phone ticks all of the important boxes. It has a superb bright and vivacious HD display, a speedy processor and of course the aforementioned camera with additional features. These alone set the BlackBerry in a position to compete with the Android and iPhone devices.

A Few Issues

Those that aren't committed already to BlackBerry will certainly notice some deficiencies. Although minor, they soon stack up and create a pile of minor annoyances. The file system is rather unintuitive and the basic mapping system at just doesn't match that from Google.

A Black iPhone Clone?

Those that want to be cruel to BlackBerry will say that his phone is an essence, an Apple iPhone cloned not very well. It contains no more in the operating system than one would expect in a half decent high-end phone.

The design and build of the phone is handsome and it actually does look rather like the Black version of the Apple iPhone 5. It has straight edges, round corners and a screen of around 4 inches. Despite this it does have its own BlackBerry identity and it's a nice looking phone for the boardroom or for personal use.

Should You Go for It?

If you're willing to learn it will be good buy. If you can bear to ignore a few minor annoyances and learn how to navigate around then this phone it could be a good option for you. The operating system certainly has some minor changes required to be really good.

If you're waiting for the next best thing from BlackBerry so that you can jump back in and enjoy the brand then maybe wait for the next release when the company has sorted some of the issues. It is a good phone but it is less user friendly than the Windows, Android and iOS driven phones of the day.

A really positive step forward from BlackBerry nonetheless and encouraging for the future. Perhaps BlackBerry will be able to re-craft some domination in the sector in the future.
