HTC Windows Phone - Capable And Innovative

While the mobile phone industry may be dominated by Apple and Android products and many people are afraid to step outside of their comfort zone to try something new, HTC has been making great progress in increasing their appeal to mobile phone customers.

HTC has been struggling over the previous few years and has fallen away from the popular Android OS to their original platform, Windows Mobile. While Windows Mobile has generally failed to make a big splash in the world of mobile phones HTC has had some success in the past with the OS and the switch back appears to put the hopes of both companies squarely on the shoulders on HTC’s newest release, the HTC Windows Phone 8X Blue.

How Does It Measure Up?

HTC has always been one of the better brands of smart phones but always seems to trail behind Apple and exclusively Android based devices. However, HTC and Windows are hoping that with the release of the 8x that much of that can change. The design of the 8x is sleek and attractive, coming in a variety of bright colors to go with Window’s “live tiles” theme.

The shell is made of a lightweight yet extremely durable synthetic resin featuring a matt finish. The device is fairly light, weighing in at only 130g, almost as light as the iPhone. All of the features you might expect from a smartphone are there and interfacing with the OS is fairly simple and easy to do.

Windows Multimedia Capabilities in Your Pocket

Since HTC and Microsoft collaborated on the release of the first truly mobile version of Windows, Windows Mobile 7, both companies have made great leaps forward in their capacity to furnish an effective, easy to use and attractive smartphone that runs on Windows and can compete with some of the other more established and popular brands.

Due to the efforts of HTC and Microsoft the 8x is outfitted with a processor which is much in line with other top smartphones. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5 GHz processor and 1GB of RAM make for a very capable phone that is comfortable competing with other top brands and lends more computing power to the user than previous HTC incarnations.

Networking, Multimedia and Apps

Obviously, the first question that most people have about any smart phone is how well it handles browsing and social networking; does it handle Wi-Fi connections with ease? Is there an ample amount of apps? Does the camera have clear resolution? These and many other questions are at the forefront of most people’s minds and the HTC 8x has addressed them all.

The evolution of the Windows phone has been steady, and while there may not be as many apps as there are available at the Android and iTunes stores, there are still thousands of apps to choose from and most social networking sites are easily accessible through their apps.

Using Windows Mobile 8 is also perhaps one of the most visually pleasing experiences of any mobile phone and lends a great ease of use to the operator, making it easily one of the top smartphones on the market today.
