Sony has officially announced the launch of the Xperia Z1 - its latest flagship Android handset and the successor to the Xperia Z.

The phone comes equipped with a super-fast processor, best-in-class camera, waterproof and dust resistant design and a host of other innovative features, which make it one of the best smartphones in the premium segment of the market. Let us take a closer look at all the main features of this phone.

Features of Xperia Z1

Design:

The Sony Xperia Z1 boasts of a gorgeous design which offers superior build quality and comfortable handling. It has a 144 x 74 x 8.5 mm, 170 grams chassis which has been built using premium materials like shatter proof glass and aluminum. The design has also been IP58 certified for dust and water resistance, which means you'll be able to use it just about anywhere.

According to Sony, the phone will be able to withstand damage from exposure to 1 meter deep water for up to 30 minutes. The only minor downside of the phone's Omnibalance design is that the glass at the front and back side is easily stained by fingerprints. Display:

The handset has a 5" TFT capacitive Triluminos touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels, which breaks down into a pixel density count of 441 pixels-per-inch. The screen is backed up with the company's latest Bravia Mobile technologies and X-Reality for mobile engine, which optimizes the colors and graphics to deliver a superior viewing experience.

Software:

The Sony Xperia Z1 features Android v4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with Sony's custom user interface on top of it.
