It's a good news for those waiting eagerly for the long-rumored first ever smartphone from Amazon. Amazon's 3D Hologram smartphone is no longer a rumor as we've got exclusive leaked photos from BGR. According to BGR Amazon is finally close to unveiling the first of several own-brand smartphones. At first look, the smartphone looks much like any other touchscreen phone on the market, but why it took years for creating this phone, it means there is something unique.
There are two main points to focus, and makes this phone unique: Amazon products and services, and a custom 3D interface unlike anything we have seen before on a smartphone. Couple of days back we shared an article on Amazon’s plans to launch its own smartphone in the third quarter of this year. The article also claimed that the phone features a glasses-free 3D interface.
According to BGR "An earlier research note sent to investors by plugged-in KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed a few key specs, including details about several internal components Amazon plans to use in the device." Now BGR has confirmed of what has been reported thus far regarding the specs of the device.
Here we've got exclusive photos of a prototype of the unreleased device grin BGR, giving the world its first look at Amazon’s hotly anticipated phone. In the image you can see that the phone is covered by a protective shell to prevent people without authorization from seeing the physical design of the phone. Some areas of the photos have also been blocked or otherwise obscured by BGR.
Amazon is doing exactly the same what other companies do, by launching a high-end flagship device followed by a entry-level device that will feature lower-end specs and a very competitive retail price. We have got reports that Amazon is working on two smartphones, one is high-end flagship (shown in the picture) and a mid-range with lower-end specs will launch sometime after the phone pictured here.
The company will debut the higher-end model first in the coming months that has been in development at Amazon for several years, followed by the lower-end model. As always, flagship devices offer some very impressive specs, which apply for Amazon's flagship phone also. It is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 2GB of RAM, it will sport 4.7 inches 720p HD Display which is comparatively low as compared to 1080p HD resolution on many rival devices.
It’s not clear exactly what Amazon plans to call its first phone.
Our sources are not clear on exactly when Amazon’s first smartphone will be released, though we’re told the company may be targeting an announcement in the next two to three months and a launch sometime late this summer. We were also told the phone will initially be available only in the United States.
Amazon’s second, lower-cost smartphone will then debut at a later time.
