Facebook gets more social!
Facebook announced a new tool to prevent suicide by resolving the issue through live chat and helping the distressed users to get right help as soon as possible. According to reports approximately 100 Americans commit suicide daily and because Facebook is a vast social media with having more than 800 million users it can really do something in this way.
Initially, Google and Yahoo came with this thought and provided the phone number of National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to the users who searches for suicide on their websites.
Now, how this works? If any user gets an indication of suicide through any post or comment of his friend he can report it to Facebook's Report Suicidal Content page. When you will open this page you will get a small form, fill it with your friend's name, his profile page and submit it.
As soon as Facebok gets that report, their team will quickly respond with the user who is in distress and will try to find out the solution.
