Twitter has released its new version of mobile application for iPhone and Android. It is powered by many new and high-demand features that include new design, functionality improvements and swipe shortcut. The new Twitter app is optimized for Android Ice Cream Sandwich devices. iPhone users will experience updated design of direct messages section. They can also mark messages as unread by tapping a checkbox in the lower righthand corner.

New Features

• Swipe Shortcut

Now you can reply, favorite, retweet or share a tweet with a swipe of your fingertips in your timeline only. You can also view the user's profile without leaving your timeline.

• Find Friends

This option allows you to find which of your friends are on Twitter as you enter your email address or phone number.

• Copy and Paste

This feature is only for iPhone. You can copy and paste the text of a tweet and user profiles. Just press and hold to copy.

• Link Love

Now iPhone users can copy or email a link to a tweet. If a user gets a link within a tweet, he will see the option to tweet, copy or mail that link.

Direct Messages and Font Size Settings

This option is also for iPhone users. As I mentioned above there is a design update for direct messages. A user can mark all direct messages as read or unread. Font size can also be changed  by going to the Settings > Advanced.
