Experience the Beauty of Amazon with Google Street View

Google Street View is a part or we can say a feature of Google Maps that allows you to explore places around the world through 360-degree street-level imagery. It was started on May 25, 2007 as an experiment, but with the success, Google expanded it from several cities in the United States to the rural areas worldwide. You can walk forward, backward, turn left and right as you physically do. Google Street View displays multiple images combined in one to produce a segmented panorama or high-resolution image.

The Team Google went to the Amazon Basin to capture ground-level images of the rivers, forest and communities in the Rio Negro Reserve. They made available these images to the people worldwide on this World Forest Day 2012. This project lets you explore and experience the beauty and diversity of the Amazon from your home. This project was made in partnership with Google and the Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS). They took 50,000 still photos and stitched (combined) together to create this 360 panoramic view.

This Street View tour of Amazon is special because it allows you to see those places which are restricted to public access and are under the protection of the Brazilian government. So we must appreciate this project and give thanks to the team for providing access to this special place of the planet that many of us otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to experience.
