A Location App for the Directionless

Location App for the Directionless
Just about everyone knows at least one person who suffers from directionless, a faux condition that limits his or her ability to follow verbal directions, and in some cases written directions. You might even be someone who cannot follow someone’s directions when he or she tries to explain the directions and location to you.

This can often result in people becoming lost and frustrated, sometimes ending up in a completely different part of the city. These people are often late for parties, dinner at a new restaurant they’ve never visited, or show up after a movie starts. This directionless issue can cause rifts in friendships, not to mention some laughter at the expense of the people who are always late.

While this is all in jest, it really is frustrating when people have trouble finding one another. Some people resort to checking in to social network sites with location apps, but that really isn’t a solution to the problem.  It may let your friends know that you are at a certain location at a certain time, but it doesn’t let them know how to get there. Mapfia is a location app for the crowd that actually wants to get together rather than just post about where they are.

How is the App Different?
This application isn’t going to rely on your social networks, and it is not going to post to your social networks. Instead, it connects people who have this application on their phone and who are connected. They can determine where they are and how to reach the others in their group. The app even provides directions, and in the latest iteration of the app, it is even possible to message friends while the app is open.

This makes the location sharing application more interactive and more useful. If someone is on the way to a party or a BBQ, for example, you could always send out an instant message telling them to stop and pick up ice or more hot dogs before they arrive. This keeps the app open so that they still know where to go, but it ensures that your party doesn’t suffer without ice! Of course, you can probably figure out plenty of other ways that you can use the instant messaging portion of the application.

The app is free to download, and you do not have to pay for the calls that you use with the app. It’s nice to find something that’s so useful that isn’t going to cost you an arm and a leg. One of the things that you will want to note about the application is that everyone is going to need to download it if you want to use it.

Fortunately, it is available for Android devices as well as the iPhone, so you should not have trouble connecting with anyone, as long as they download the app and you add them to your contacts. Since the app is free, this should not be a problem. Just make sure that everyone knows how to use the location app. Since it’s easy to use, most people can pick it up and use it very easily.

Get to Where You Need to Go
When you are meeting up with the group, you don’t want to waste time, and you want your friends to know where you are. This application is an ideal solution so you can get where you need to go and connect with your friends. It is easy to use, and it makes the problem with all of your direction-challenged friends a thing of the past!
