You can do about a million things at one time without missing a beat and communicate and share data with people all around the globe within a matter of seconds. Just when it seems things couldn’t possibly get any faster, they always seem to. We thought it was about time that we talked a bit about the internet, how it's changed and how it affects us today.
It's definitely bringing the world together in ways that many of us thought were never possible. We can't help but wonder what it has in store for us next. How much faster can it possibly get and if it does get faster, what is that going to mean for our everyday lives? How much simpler and connected can the world possibly get?
More Speed Needed
In the beginning, the reason for increases in internet speed was due to customer demand. The more people that had the internet, the more bogged down the system was becoming. In order to keep up with the number of customers, companies had no choice but to find ways to make the internet faster than ever and do so on a regular and consistent basis. These days the internet is needed for just about everything and when it's down, entire companies are left helpless.
In recent years internet companies have been going out of their way to get the fastest speeds out there and this competition is driving changes like never before. Changes are being made constantly left and right and they are happening so quickly that it's hard for mobile devices to keep up.
Did you know there are actually companies that can handle 100mg internet these days and there is talk of things getting even faster in the near future? That speed is something most of us could never dream having or needing but it's out there and there are no signs of things slowing down at all. We can't help but wonder if there is even a limit on how fast things can get.
Computers Are Now a Necessity
If you look around, it's hard to go anywhere without seeing some form of the internet being used. We don't even read books like we used to. These days, more and more people are downloading their books to their cell phones or E-Readers instead of stopping by the library.
It's as if nothing can be done these days without the help of the internet so it's no wonder the speeds are shooting through the roof. On top of that, the internet is making paper less and less needed and is taking the place of many things; so it's definitely a drastic change across the globe in more ways than we can say.
Another example of this is when you are applying for jobs. In the good old days, you would bring in a paper application and sit down with a manager. In today's day and age, a lot of this is all done via the web. The speed and ease that this creates is fascinating and it just keeps getting easier with time.
Not only are you submitting your applications and resumes online but you may also meet with your future boss via Skype of Google Chat instead of meeting up in person. As many of you may know already, this is also making it possible for many people to work from home and start their own businesses.
Losing Track of the Human Connection
While the internet is fantastic, it also has its downsides. People don't get out of the house like they used to and while we may be talking to our friends and family members all day everyday; not many of us are actually calling people anymore or going to their houses to meet up on a regular basis. So, it leaves us to wonder whether all these internet advancements are actually a good thing or a bad thing in disguise.
It's difficult to say what the future of the internet holds but we are sure that is a lot in store for us. Technology is amazing and hard to predict. You never know what tomorrow may bring but we are patiently waiting and excited to see how things will improve because every time you think it can't get any better; someone always comes up with a new way to do things that allows customers to have even faster and consistent access to the web. That's definitely something no one is going to be complaining about anytime soon.
