The Android Set to Persevere against the New iPhone

Apple launched its sixth iPhone model this past month. Fanboys around the world are excited about the new development. However, the Android community hasn’t been fazed by the new addition.

Some Android users have said they are impressed with Apple’s newest update. However, they also said that it doesn’t offer anything the Android device doesn’t already provide. In fact, the new features on the iPhone 5 have been available to Android users since 2010.

Although most Android users still feel their devices are superior to the newest iPhone application, the sixth generation iPhone is expected to be a big improvement over its predecessors. This means the newest version will be a more competitive model against Android devices. However, it probably won’t be enough to deter the rapidly growing demand for Android applications.

Android’s Growth Trajectory

Experts questioned whether or not Google would be able to sustain sales growth this year as sales dipped several months in a row. However, new evidence has shown that the demand for Android devices has grown considerably couple of months. According to a new report from CNET, the number of new Android devices has surged in recent months. Approximately half a billion new devices were sold overnight.

Apple surpassed Google as the leading smartphone manufacturer this summer. However, the iPhone’s reign as the smartphone leader may be short-lived, as sales of the new Android have surged.

Will Apple Continue to be the Market Leader?

Apple is battling hard to retain share of the global smartphone market. Although the iPhone has a number of advantages, it is becoming increasingly harder for Apple to grow its base of loyal customers. The smartphone is tailored to a more narrowly targeted audience.

The only way that Apple will be able to gain new followers for its iPhone users will be to market to new users. The problem is that marketing to new users could force them to compromise their brand image with their existing customer base. Most industry experts don’t expect them to make that compromise.

The war to dominate the smartphone market has grown more intense in 2012. Apple still offers some features that appeal to many customers. However, the technology conglomerate may have a harder time growing as the untapped base of consumers in their target demographic continues to dwindle. Google is confident that it will be able to continue to reach many more customers in the coming months. The newest generation of the Android is demanded by many customers throughout the world.

Although both firms continue to fight to be the industry leader, neither is concerned about their future. The demand for smartphones has grown exponentially in a couple of short years. Both Apple and Google will probably retain a strong share of the overall and market and will be more than happy with what they have.
