Why Joomla! is a More Suitable Content Management System for Websites

Joomla is best Content Management System
When it comes to content management systems or CMS, one thing that comes to mind is WordPress. For many web developers, WordPress is the CMS of choice, and the statistics speak for themselves.

About 22 percent of new websites created last year are maintained through this CMS tool. In the realm of search engine optimization (SEO), most, if not all, websites are operated through WordPress.

However, there have been a lot of CMS platforms lately that have stood side-by-side with WordPress in terms of popularity among web designers and developers, as well as in usage. One of them is Joomla!, which is, like WordPress, a free and open source CMS that is used to publish content for websites.

With the emergence of Joomla! as one of the top CMS platforms, many people can’t stand comparing it to WordPress. While the latter still maintains as the top platform, with Joomla! coming in second, some people think Joomla! is more suitable for websites. Why so?

Here’s the other side of the story, so to speak:

•    Joomla! provides the best platform for developing websites for the sake of search engine optimization (SEO).
•    A website with a Joomla! layout is easily crawled by Google.
•    With Joomla!, URLs don’t need to show up with query strings. Instead, they can be changed into SEO-friendly links that can easily be crawled. (For example, http://www.name.com/name/a/html.)

What stands out of Joomla! amongst all other CMS platforms is its language internationalization feature. To put it simply, a website that runs in Joomla! has the ability to run the website in other languages aside from English. The great thing about it is that the user can turn a web page in English into any language available within the site.

The Joomla! platform’s language internationalization feature can be configured based on two options. The developer could either make the user choose the language the latter wants, or the platform itself tries to recognize the browser setting of the visitor from another country.

These are just some of the outstanding features of Joomla! Still, the usage of either CMS, Joomla! and WordPress, still lies on web developers’ wants and needs, depending on the website.
