Innovation within the Facebook cover space is somewhat rare; indeed there are thousands of websites that offer generic Facebook covers that are essentially clone websites of one another. As such, when I saw an innovative and free Facebook cover maker app I decided to check it out and write up a review.Truth be told, we all think that we are much more interesting than what we actually are – there is an innate desire to make your mark on the world, whether that mark is for the better or for the worse. Certainly, children love to make their mark painting and using hand prints – and well, as adults we still like to personalize our things and style.
Make a Cover for Facebook is a web app that is built around the belief that most people want to sub communicate a message as to their personality type with their Facebook cover header image.
Whether that is true or not is subject to argument and I’m not qualified to make that judgement – however, most of my friends have customized their Facebook cover in some-way with most preferring something that is very specific to whom they are as a person.
This Facebook cover maker is a new take on an old theme, and that’s perhaps what I like about it the most.
You communicate your preferences, style and personality by the choices that you make with the Make a Cover’s maker tool. You make choices in a decision tree fashion, so your customization choices are contingent on the initial choice that you make as to which personality you wish to customize.
In effect you select a personality type and then dress it up like a plastic doll to use as a Facebook cover, it may sound simple but it works, is effective and the end result is pretty cool.
Fortunately, the application doesn’t add watermarks to the covers that it creates – something that I believe would detract from its rather innovative offering.
Whilst this cover maker app for Facebook is well designed and is different, it is also fairly easy to be critical. Most notably is the lack of customization options for some characters and the inability to add textual content to the platform.
It seems that the developers of this Facebook maker app have taken the decision to get their app out there at the expense of functionality and customization options, and as it’s a HTML 5 application have decided that they’ll build as they market.
