Can Outbound Linking Really Help My Rankings?

What! Really!? Why in the world would I want to share my very own link juice!? Well, here are 4 reasons:

Why outbound linking can help your rankings?

 1:  Encouraging to link back!

When you link out to other websites, I’d say, it is very encouraging to get a link in return. Help boost the direct referrals of your website as well. While link exchanges are generally frowned upon, if you do this right you will be ahead of the game.

2: Adding to user experience is always a plus

Can you say VALUE? The value you are giving off is invaluable. Linking to other prominent website who are an authority on the topic or mark you are trying to specify is very helpful not only for your reader but for your credibility. What does this have to do with boosting Google rankings?

Lately google ha been enforcing quality signals into their ranking systems and algorithms. Though this won’t be the greatest feat you can tackle in regards to your rankings boosting up in the search engines, it is a small feat to help you get there, and every little bit helps.

3: Listening to the Search Engine Patents.

Every search engine must file patents in regards to their ranking algo updates. Before they can roll out updates, they’ll have to patent the algo first. Now just because Google filed a patent that includes a correlation between the quality of it’s outbound links and the quality of a website itself and vice versa does not necessarily guarantee rankings. Again, this is a small feat, but a great one to add to your arsenal.

4: Rewards.

This tactic or strategy seems like it’d be a tiny risk with monstrous rewards. Why? By adding outbound links to one or many of my pages I would give out very little of my link juice in comparison to my other internal and outbound links. Let’s say I have 100 internal links on my website and I have a 1% or 1 link per 100 pointing out, I think that is a viable option.

Your rankings will stay in tact, you are not being stingy with your resources and knowledge, and you are helping out the end user. After all, Google is a business and the end-user is the money maker for both Google and yourself. Scratch Google’s back and they will scratch yours.

Don’t take our word for it. Test out our input. Do a small case study and check for yourself. Look at the top ranking websites in your niche or industry and you will soon see they too have a separate outbound linking profile within their website.

I might suggest doing this via your blog and informational content only as you don’t want to send customers away who are trying to get information on your product or service.
