It is thought that 2013 is the year that most companies will decide to go digital. By that, I mean that companies will be integrating digital marketing strategies in to the communication plans for their clients or themselves.

It seems digital and traditional marketing strategies are now coming together in order to work together and benefit one another. By integrating digital and traditional marketing processes, it will improve the overall communication procedure, as each marketing platform benefits one another creating one integrated system.

2013 is going to see a huge step forward for digital marketing, in that it will no longer be known as a small addition to traditional marketing approaches but will have a great presence in itself.

Now, for the statistics:
• 38% of CEOs label social media a high priority and 57% of businesses planned to hike their social spend in 2012

• More than 56% of businesses are set increase their budget of digital marketing

• 65% of companies are becoming more adept at coordinating their online marketing efforts

• 65% are saying that they plan on spending more on SEO

• In the USA, there was $39.5 billion spent on online ads in 2012 – this is a growth of 23% over 2011,

As PR, marketing and advertising changes, it is predicted that the notion of the classic ‘campaign’ will soon fade and real-time marketing will play a bigger part in the communication process. Campaigns are rigid in their format, whereas real time marketing allows you to update and adapt instantly.

It is this idea of ‘instant’ that is appealing, as this is exactly the way the industry is going.
There are more iPhones sold per day than there are people born around the world so, if you want to be a success in 2013, you need to go mobile. Making your digital marketing mobile-friendly is an absolute must nowadays, as users accessing the web through their mobile devices has doubled since 2009.

If you think that social media and digital marketing isn’t for you and your business, think again. Perhaps another statistic will convince you otherwise… There is now over 2.8 billion social media profiles, representing around half of all internet users worldwide.

13 may be unlucky for some, but 2013 could be very lucky for you if you consider taking a step into digital marketing.
