Blogs these days have become an important part of our world. They say, “The pen is mightier than the sword”, and people writing blogs are trying to emphasize exactly that.

But it’s not necessary that blogs be used only as a mass “weapon”. Blogs in this era have a load of variety, both in style and function. There are some, who depend on these blogs to increase their knowledge. Some do it just for fun, or the sake of it. So, the question that arises in every human mind is the fact that “Should blogs be big and descriptive, or short and sweet?”

Composing a Blog

The way we see it, the fundamental aspect of a blog writer is the ability to condense his or her ideas into a composed and structural form. That is not only short in length but also covering all the important topics related to the given issue.

It gives a solid yet presentable look to the body of the writing. Not only that, it invites the reader to read furthermore instead of boiling and pondering over a huge sized manuscript fit only to be read by Historians alike.

A large section of people feel the need to save time. Well, this certainly fits the occasion! But jokes apart, if a blog is written in too long a style, it bores the reader to death, and he or she eventually has to call it quits. This may even cause the most important part of the blog to be skipped. This leads to the defaming of the blogger himself, for he will now be deemed as a long boring writer with no sense of rigidity.

Way of Posting Blogs

There are several bloggers who love to beat about the bush and eventually fail to sum up their ideas and convey them to the readers, simply because the wasted time on mere useless jargon or other unimportant poppycock, which ends up looking like gibberish to the readers.

No one would want that, would they now? In fact, I believe Bloggers have a special and unique skill, and are usually the type of people who are good at shorthand skills. The rest of the lots, they want to-be bloggers, are mere amateurs in their profession. This may sound rude or too aggressive but that is the truth, because the main skill of a regular blogger is the “condensation”.

Mode of Blogging

The Internet, especially social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Orkut is the mother lode of all blogs; because that is the place these bloggers exercise their faculty. Now, the reason for that can be allotted to the fact that, most people these days love hanging out on the internet more often than recommended. The talented ones always get the spotlight eventually.

Long Blog Post’s Disadvantages

Most of the bloggers are the ones who utilize their condensation skills. Who would want to read a whale sized blog, which reminds you of nothing more than the old history classes you used to have in high school? (Forgive the grim sarcasm) And the fact that you can shorten your writing by one or half a page simply means that your command over the English language is more than others.

Take pride in that! Perhaps this is why schools these days understand the importance of short writing and teach the students to write PrĂ©cis. The ones who are really good at it flourish. The rest, well, they don’t become beggars, but end up with a lower profile.

Nevertheless, blogging is an art, and should be done the right, way. And by that I mean, Short, Sweet and To-The-Point. This not only attracts the readers but also takes in their attention towards the blog.
