There are so many different types of phone out there and it is becoming a tough task separating what phones are good and what phones aren't. A lot of people associate smartphones with the Apple iPhone because that was pretty much the first of its kind, I can understand this but there is so much more variety out there.
We live in a technologically advanced world now and all of the big technology providers have given the smartphone market a go. If you are looking to keep under a budget then it is important to shop around and check out the specifications of all the phones individually, this is pretty much the best way to get a handle on what is available. The internet is the best place to start any search and in doing so you can gage the price of the phones available.
The tone I have taken so far is that the only alternative is another smartphone but that really is not the case. There are so many, much simpler and cheaper phone versions on the market that really can give you the same level of functionality.
This article will aim to highlight the alternatives out there to the iPhone and what the benefits of that are.
Are They Overrated?
You have got to ask yourself the question, are iPhones overrated? You never hear people saying a bad word about these devices apart from the poor battery life, but performance wise their rating is second to none. We live in a highly critical world and if they weren't very good then we would know about it, you have to take on board what people think.
It isn't hard to be impressed by the iPhone, the way they look and work is incredible but all you have to ask yourself is are they worth the money? Fundamentally you need a phone to call people and therefore everything on top of that is an added extra and due to the current economic climate it isn't hard to see where people are coming from when they say they aren't needed.

Marmalade is an iPhone development company and they focus on upgrading the software and apps held within the phones. It is an industry in itself and there are many great benefits of smartphones.
Social Interaction
The rise of the smartphone has certainly led to a reduction in social interaction, people just aren't willing to talk to each other in person as much. Facebook and social media focus has increased so much and that is due to the smartphone and the ease of access we all now have.
Cheap Options
There are many other cheaper options out there, the Android for example. This variant has all the same features of an iPhone and is a fraction of the price. It is all down to personal preference and people have got to know what they want from their device. There are options out there so don't just immediately think the iPhone is the only phone for you.About the Author:
