Who Started The 3D SmartPhone War?

That is correct, a 3D war has broken out between smart phone manufactures and the winner has yet to be decided. The first shot was fired by the Korean company LG, when they released the LG Optimus 3D. Which company is going to be the next one to enter the battle, will it be Apple, Nokia, or possibly even Blackberry, only time will tell?

The LG Optimus 3D is a Monster

LG was not messing around when they released this baby. They loaded it with so much computing power, that some personal computers are envious. It is called a “Tri-Dual Architecture Smartphone”, and it comes with the following computing components dual-channel RAM, dual-core OMAP 4 CPU, and dual-channel board configuration.

If you thought that was all it had, then you would be wrong because it also comes with 512 MB of RAM, 8GB of ROM Storage, dual five megapixel cameras that can record 1080p 2D (30 fps) and 720p 3D (30 fps) video, and a screen that is glasses-free auto-stereoscopic 3D of WVGA 800×480 resolution and is sized at 4.3”.

Seriously, what was LG thinking when they designed this fiend? One well placed person thought that they intended on intimidating the competition, and dominating the 3D market. If that was their grand plan, then it just might work. But, just because it has all of those sophisticated and expensive components does not mean it performs well, or does it?

How Good is the LG Optimus 3D?

The early reviews are out, and most of the owners of these one of a kind device simply love it. In fact, many of the experts that were able to get their hands on it before it was released to the general public, were absolutely tickled pink at how well it performed. Let’s just say that the hardware and software in this smart phone match perfectly. LG has really picked up their game when it comes to manufacturing smart phones and knows that they public is demanding more and more.

The LG Optimus 3D feels great in your hands; it has brushed steel, nice soft plastic, and has a high quality screen. The dual 3D cameras automatically focus, and the lenses for the cameras are recessed, so you cannot scratch them. It also comes with a 1.3 front facing camera that takes above average 2D photos. You can also use it for video conferencing if you so desire. If you intend on using it for that, you might want to get Google’s talk video, and Android 2.3.4.

Should You Buy It?

No, under no circumstances should you purchase this awesome contraption. That is, unless you want to own one of the coolest smart phones the world has ever seen. Seriously, if you are into 3D videos and do not feel like carrying your video camera with you everywhere that you go so that you do not miss a really good shot. Then you should run to the closest store and get one of these little babies in your collection.
