Xperia M Dual C2005 - Suitable for Everyone

Sony’s Xperia series may have been made famous thanks to its top model, Z1, but that is not to say that it doesn’t hold some decent phones with less impressive specifications, but a much better balance of price and features, more suitable for average users who don’t need a mini laptop to be able to enjoy the experience.

Xperia M was offered in single SIM variant – models C1905 for worldwide sales and C1904 for sale in the USA and Australia, and dual SIM – C2005 for sale in the rest of the world and C2004 for sale in the USA and Australia.

Design

Xperia M Dual C2005 is not waterproof as Z1, nor does it have its glass backcover, but its plastic body is quite resilient to physical damage and allows for convenient battery replacement, which might not be equally important to everyone, but is a nice option to have.

The phone fits comfortably in the hand, with 115 g and dimensions of 124 x 62 x 9.3 mm. The phone also boasts OmniBalance systems, which should make it equally comfortable to use it in landscape and portrait modes. Xperia M Dual C2005 comes in purple, black and white.

Screen

The 4 inch TFT display of Xperia M Dual C2005 may not leave you breathless with its 854 x 480 resolution and 245 ppi, but it is sensitive enough to be able to easily accept input, and despite what the numbers might indicate, it is quite pleasant to look at.

Hardware

Long battery life is one of the phone’s better features, allowing for 40 hours of music listening, 500 hours of standby and up to 10 hours of talking. The phone is ran by the 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm CPU, has 4 GB of internal memory and 1 GB of RAM.

Even though you may not be able to play any game that you can think of, this setup still allows for some demanding tasks, and ensures that you won’t have to deal with lag too often. Xperia M Dual C2005 has a 5 MP sensor in its rear camera, which is capable of shooting in HDR and making 30 fps 720p HD video, and basically allows for decent, if not spectacular photos.

Software

Xperia M Dual C2005 runs Android 4.1 and can be upgraded to the following version, 4.2. Sony applied their convenient skin to the basic Android functionality, which is a welcome addition, according to the majority of users who have had the chance to try it out.

Apart from coming with a number of handy preinstalled apps, Xperia M Dual C2005 is also able to offer some interesting features, including the ability to use both SIM’s simultaneously, talking on one, while holding the call on the other; a convenient and well made Near Field Communication (NFC) system which allows for easy connection with different devices, contactless payments and file transfer, as well as a Battery STAMINA mode, which helps you prolong the battery life by giving you the option of easily turning off background processes.
