Lava Has Launched its First Android KitKat Based Smartphone, The Iris X1 for Rs. 7,999

Lava has launched its first KitKat running smartphone, the Iris X1 at an affordable price of 7,999. The smartphone is now available via Amazon India, and if you order the Lava Iris X1 on the launch day will also get a 16GB microSD card free with the device.

As of now the company has not mentioned the availability of the Iris X1 from retail stores, the company claims in the press note that the Iris X1 will be 'exclusively' available on Amazon. The company has priced the Iris X1 for Rs, 7,999, targeting the low mid-class segment.

The device comes with the dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) capability and also supports 3G connectivity. Other specs include a 4.5-inch IPS display (480x854 pixels resolution and 217ppi pixel density). Powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage; expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

It sports a 8-megapixel rear sore with dual-LED flash; 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 1800mAh battery. While launching the device, Hari Om Rai, Chairman and Managing Director, Lava International Ltd. said, "Lava is proud to announce the launch of 'X' series with the Lava Iris X1, a beautifully crafted smartphone with best in class hardware and software features.
