HP is Preparing to Launch a Smartwatch in Partnership With Designer Michael Bastian

HP is joining the race of smartwatches, but with a difference. The difference is that, unlike other smartwatches from LG, Samsung and Motorola, Hewlett-Packard’s smartwatch won’t be running on Google's Android Wear operating system.

Despite running on other platform the smartwatch will be compatible with Android and iOS smartphones. HP also wants its timekeeper to look something different, so it's partnering with designer Michael Bastian to produce its own next-gen timepiece.

HP Smartwatch designed by Michael Bastian

According to the report we've got the HP smartwatch will be circular in shape just like the Motorola's Moto 360. The smartwatch will have stainless steel casing and will offer interchangeable bands available in plastic, rubber and leather.

Bastian’s design is inspired by luxurious interiors that are found in high-end cars. This smartwatch will perform all general functions that other smartwatches do such as allowing you to read email and text notifications, music player controls, weather, stocks, and news updates.

No other information regarding this particular watch is available such as launching date, price and hardware details, but it is expected to launch this fall.
