Google Goggles - A Visual Search App

Now search the web by taking a photo from your mobile phone. You can search similar images and information about the photo you have taken from your phone. Initially it came for Android only but now it is also available for iPhone (iOS 4.0 required). With this app you don't have to speak or write anything, just capture the picture from your mobile camera and wait for the search results.

Since visual search technology is in its initial stage therefore it can visualize limited item to give you best query. It can recognize up to three items at a time. Below are the items that Google Goggles can recognize.

• Landmarks
• Barcodes & QR codes
• Logos
• Contact info
• Artwork
• Businesses
• Products
• Text

Google Goggles cannot recognize below items very well,

• Animals
• Plants
• Cars
• Furniture
• Apparel

You can get information of landmarks and structures, it can translate languages for you, it can search text.

For best results, hold your mobile in "left landscape" mode, as shown in below image, and capture the picture by pressing the button with your right thumb.

Currently this app is available for the following devices:
