Connect Google Analytics Account with Google Webmaster Tools

Google has provided lots of services to webmasters and publisher. For example Google Analytics service with the help of which a webmaster can track his visitors stats.

Another Service is Webmaster Tools, with the help of this service you can submit sitemaps for your websites, you can also configure your site performance with the help of this tool.

These two services are different therefore you have to open these tool in order to access their features. But if you connect these two services you can access the features of both services at the same place. So lets start.

Connecting Google Analytics Account with Google Webmaster Tools

You can connect these two services from their accounts. You can connect either from going to your Analytics account or from Webmaster Tools. I will explain both process.

• Connecting from Webmaster Tools: First go to your webmaster tools dashboard and from there choose the site you want to connect. Click the “Manage site option.

From the drop down list click the “Google Analytics property” option.


Select the site you want to connect and save it. You will get a pop-up message asking if you want to display a new association, click OK. Now it is done. You will get a message in your Webmasters Tools inbox stating successful connection between these services.

You can also check whether it is working correctly or not by going to Google Analytics. Go to your account and from Standard Reporting go to Traffic Source >> Search Engine Optimization and then click one of the following Queries, Landing Pages or Geographical summary. If it is connected then you will see data in these categories.



• Connecting from Google Analytics: You can also perform this connection process from your Analytics account. Go to your Standard Reporting tab (as shown above) and from there go to Traffic Source >> Search Engine Optimization and then click one of the following Queries, Landing Pages or Geographical summary.

As mentioned in the above process. If you have not connected your account yet you will get the option to connect your Analytics account to your webmaster tools. You will be redirected to your Webmaster Tools and perform all the steps as in the first method by saving your site and clicking OK.
