Initially it was thought that Google authorship cannot be implemented on Google hosted sites like Bloggers and it was nothing but a misconception. Now we can see various blogspot blogs having authorship markups.
But the method for implementing this was same for bloggers and for other websites and many new bloggers were unable to understand this process. But now here is a solution to implement Google authorship with a click.
A good news for blogspot bloggers that they can implement Google authorship for their blogs without understanding and searching for it. Google has introduced for bloggers to implement Google authorship with a click and don't need any code. It's very easy and a newbie can also implement it without an hassle. So how to do this? Just follow these steps:
Implement Google Authorship on Blogspot/Blogger Blogs
• Create your Google Plus profile by clicking here.• Click the gear icon
(Settings option). You can go to settings by choosing a particular blog or from your dashboard and choose your blog later on which you want to implement Google authorship. • From the Setting's drop-down menu select Connect to Google+.
• In the next window tick the check-box and click Switch Now.
Google will ask you to re-enter the password for security purpose. Now select the blog you want to add or you can skip this step and by default it will add all your blogs. Now your Blogger profile is connected to your Google+ profile. You can verify it by going to Rich Snippet Tool. You must add your About Me (Profile) gadget in your blog otherwise Google's rich snippet tool will not verify your profile.
If everything is correct you will see your name and profile image in the rich snippet tool. Below is my profile's preview which is successfully verified.
Important points to keep in mind before switching Blogger Profile to Google+ Profile:
• Once you have switched your Blogger profile to Google+ profile you can revert it anytime within 30 days. After that, your Blogger profile data will be deleted.• If you have any information in your Blogger profile you can copy it to your Google+ profile before switching. It is because Google+ will not transfer your blogger profile's information and you may lose it.
• Google does not guarantee that your name and image will appear in search results after successful implementation of authorship. So after implementing successfully you can leave it and keep on writing. Don't worry if you don't get your name and image in search results.
