Apple’s New iOS Map Addition in Trouble

The latest product that Apple has put forth in the market is the new iPhone, the iPhone 5. This time their device is not subject to iPhone tracking nor is it being threatened by the likes of a new iPhone spy software, but rather its own mapping feature is turning against it.

Even though in the past iOS devices have been categorized as reasonably safer smart devices, they too are still at risk of being infected with iPhone spy software. Apple has made several arrangements and changes in order to solve the difficulties faced by consumers due to iPhone tracking and other privacy breaches which were a major concern earlier this year and in the past. Though it is now being forced to develop yet another solution in order to combat the inconvenience created by its product's own service and function.

So far Apple has claimed that it will not hold back in investing any amount of money or time in order to set things straight with its new mapping service. The new mapping service which Apple has integrated in to the iOS 6 appears to have some discrepancies and is causing inaccuracies in the map itself. Officials speaking on behalf of the firm have stated that

Apple is the sole owner of the new mapping service, which makes it Apple's responsibility to fix it, and Apple's alone. Though it must be noted that over ninety nine percent of the data in the new service is accurate which highlights the extent of the flaw. However, after receiving much feedback from critics as well as consumers, Apple appeared to appreciate the criticism rather than be taken aback by the uncovered flaws.

The mapping service which has been around for less than two weeks, performed rather well when it was demonstrated at the annual developers conference to show case what Apple has been working on. According to customers the service which uses some third party data as well as Apples’ own data is less accurate than the maps which are offered by competitors.

Though in response to this Apple stated that it is the first time they have launched such a service or been in this line of business yet they are continuously working on a solution to further enhance customer experience.

It must also be kept in mind that Apple Maps is not the only new addition to iOS 6 and even though it a major component of the new operating system, iOS also has over 200 additional new features and tweaks to its predecessor. Other than the mapping service and its slight inaccuracy, the rest of the operating system over haul seems to have gone rather smoothly and on all other fronts consumers are enjoying the new iPhone experience.

For long time Apple consumers there is a major drawback of the new operating system, as they are unable to even make use of it. Such is the case with many other upgrades offered by competing smart phone developers, that not all devices support the new software updates.

For instance users who are still using their first, second or early third generation iPhone simply cannot implant the new iOS 6 as the new operating system is not designed to integrate with those devices. Essentially this is a major problem as those users will have to consider either reinvesting in a newer Apple device, or possible to look to other substitutes.
