The different uses for a touch screen.

You can use a touch screen to do a wide range of things, depending on the device you are using it on and the program. You can use a touch screen to zoom into a map, draw a picture, write emails, change the volume on a device, and change the temperature of a room.

With businesses kiosks you can use them to buy tickets, order food, check-in for your plane or hotel, buy your groceries at the supermarket, check local train and bus times. We use touch screens a lot in our everyday lives without even realizing it, who knows where we will be with them in 10 year’s time.

Different type of touch screens.

You may not be aware that there are different types of touch screen. With some types you can only have one point of contact such as a specific pen or finger. These types of touch screen are used in devices such as control panels on a washing machine or air conditioner. On other types of touch screen you can have multiple points of contact, it really just depends on the device’s purpose.

Some touch screens only recognise finger touch as a point of contact through technology to tell if it is a person trying to operate it, or an object. This technology is used in mobile phones when it comes to unlocking your phone from the home screen and can be really useful as otherwise your phone may unlock itself in your bad or pocket.

You can use touch screen technology on a number of different screen types, but LCD screens appear to be a widely used choice when it comes to consumer products due to its sharp and clear image.
