Is This the Fast Food Web?

The internet is something that’s always changing, and that’s something that I’m so glad about. For the last ten or so years, the World Wide Web has been like the combination of a roller-coaster, a typhoon and an earthquake all at the same time!

We all keep learning which is great, but sometimes it’s hard for anyone to keep up! Lately everything’s been about speed. How quickly does your page load up? How long are you going to spend on a webpage before you make the decision to move off it?

How long before your clients are jumping ship from your site? It’s all a bit of nightmare for anyone but the very best SEO experts to handle.

We’re seeing this rapid fire online behaviour all over the place. Facebook has become such a huge part of people’s lives; it is now almost a check in point. People are basically connected all of the time, but they are likely to dip in and out for sometimes just a few seconds at a time to see what’s changed. Recently we’ve seen exactly the same thing with the new social app frenzy that is SnapChat.

This app has been downloaded in its millions by kids all over the world, and the premise is simple – send a picture to someone and it will self combust in ten seconds! This is as throwaway as you can get! At the moment it’s the fourth most downloaded app in the app store – so is clearly frighteningly popular.

Fast Food Web

We live in a world where everything is done so quickly, so we have to react to that in the SEO world. One of the most important things for any website is for it to deliver the content quickly. This means no more flash welcome pages which take precious seconds to roll out – no one wants to sit through that anymore!

By the time you page loads, someone could have sent two pictures on SnapChat and Tweeted the world that your webpage is rubbish!

Of course, an SEO company worth its salt should be able to make sure that a webpage loads up quickly enough for all but the most impatient people, and that’s exactly what’s required today. If you have a slow loading webpage, you need to correct the problem, and fast!

You’ll normally benefit from speaking to and SEO expert in your area, but if truth be told, finding someone online will be equally as beneficial, given that you don’t really need to speak to the person face to face. If you want to get all modern about things, then you could always find an SEO company online and organise a Google Hangout with them, to chat through your needs!

The bottom line is that if you have a website which has not been optimized, the overriding likelihood is that it probably does load a bit slowly against more modern sites, and those that have had some attention from an SEO company. Get in touch with someone today to find out how you can your site cope with today’s fast food surfing culture!
