When it comes to your mobile phone, just how ‘appy are you? Do you keep up with the latest app trends, the newest apps and crazes? Or do you prefer function over style and tend to stick with what you know?

There are millions of apps out there, whatever your phone.  They cover all different areas of your life from social media and planning to fitness and food.  So, which apps are the ones for you?

Social
These are the apps that teenagers just can’t do without.  Twitter, Facebook and Instagram appear to be the firm favourites.  These apps help you to stay connected with social media, upload photos onto your profile and send updates wherever you are in the world.  The social media apps just keep getting better too.  Which is why you will probably need to update your apps regularly.

Fitness
From apps for tracking your fitness and progress to apps that show you how to meditate and take a yoga class, there is something for everyone.  Apps such as My Fitness Pal will allow you to document what you eat, how much exercise you do and how much weight you are losing.

One of the newest and most popular well-being apps is HeadSpace.  Used by all the cool celebrities it enables you to meditate in short bursts wherever you are in the world.  Being able to take this on the go with you is a real advantage.

Food
Whether you are a baking goddess or you want to learn how to boil an egg there will certainly be an app for that. The Waitrose app is ideal if you want to get creative in the kitchen.  Packed with lots of mouth-watering recipes you can create shopping lists and flag recipes as favourites.

How to
DIY has never been so easy with these handy how to apps.  Take B&Q’s app for example.  It shows you how to lay decking, hang wallpaper and put up shelving, as well as hundreds of other home improvement projects. Combine that with a toolkit app and you are ready for any DIY task that comes your way.  Well, within reason.

Favorites
All your favourite websites probably now have apps.  Whether you love to shop, love to sell things on eBay or want to find a new home, chances are you will be able to find an app.  From asos to Next and Rightmove to iTunes. Did you know that Sky even have an app that enables you to record your favourite programmes even if you are not at home?

But don’t forget, if you are using your mobile phone you will want to ensure that you have mobile phone insurance. This will cover you if your phone is lost, stolen, broken or if you accidentally damage it.

If you have purchased apps for your phone then you may be able to back them up onto your computer.  Which means that, should your phone be broken or damaged, you will still be able to put your apps onto your new device.
