It is very possible you have no idea what PRISM is and what NSA was up to with this project. However, the same project probably knows all about you, right from your social media, emails, and photos and much more as per a report provided by the Washington Post.

Essentially, PRISM came in the radar of many people once it was learned that it was collecting a lot of secret data, internet browsing records in troves from some of the world’s chief technological and digital companies the world over. In fact, it is believed you might be monitored even as you type or watch a YouTube video.

Your Data From All Over

PRISM indicates something out of “Enemy of the State” movie or “Bourne Identity” book and film but it is believed to have been developed in 2007 with revelations done more than six years later.

It is like a web wiretap with its tentacles spreading to every part of the web where connection logs, documents, emails, photographs, video and audio is recorded after receipt from the huge number of tech companies out there such as Apple, YouTube, Skype, Facebook, Microsoft, Google, AOL and Yahoo among others with cloud based storage services also on the radar of NSA such as Dropbox.

These revelations have made so many people to develop bittersweet relationships with their favorite social networking sites such as Facebook as a result of allowing the NSA access their data.

Your Data Given Voluntarily

While many might think it is a forced relationship between the NSA and tech companies, reports indicate otherwise. PRISM looks a lot as a setup built voluntarily by these high-tech companies with the help of NSA.

Lawsuits could bankrupt such companies as AOL and Yahoos among others and lawsuit immunity is an exchange believed to have led them to divulge as much information as possible to data interceptors within the FBI that liaises with the NSA and US based tech companies.

Little Suspicion And You Are Tapped
To tap into a person’s account, the only thing required is some suspicion and an operator in the government will take a good look at everything one could have done on the web. These include such data as web searches, private emails, photos and Facebook updates and feeds and anything you can imagine.

In fact, it is believed your ideas could be watched as they form in a document as you type. With the spying deals from Verizon already bad enough, PRISM activities are the worst, considering even Skype and Gtalk calls could be with the NSA.

Gmail And Skype Monitored Too

A PRISM collection of Gmail and Skype messages include monitoring audio in case one side is a normal phone in combination of file transfers, chats, videos and audios if Skype users are connecting through a PC alone.

On the other hand, Google is believed to be offering PRISM Gmail related information, Google Drive files, video chats and voice, live search terms surveillance and photo libraries. With such data in the hand of NSA, finding what they want is very easy with a simple user manual.

Twitter might not be in the PRISM fold for now but could bring your tweets to NSA soon. In short, for the last six years and counting, NSA has been monitoring or in possession of your foremost information.
