Touchns iPad Case
Computers became laptops and laptops have now become tablets! The tablets are not complete without few accessories. Who would have thought electronic gadgets would require “accessories”? Yeah, some accessories have become mandatory for protecting gadgets, especially the tablets. Imagine buying an iPad that becomes “i-scratch” in a couple of months!

When it comes to protection and looks, protection definitely wins without a doubt. Out of the array of accessories that are available for the iPad, a casing is the most important one. Casings have become so important that the companies design and manufacture iPad cases are steadily on the rise! Here is a review on a recently introduced R*Case by Touchns for 3rd Gen iPad.

The design:

Though the “look” is like any other plastic cases that was released over the years, Touchns’ R* case stands apart from the others. It fits like a glove to your 3rd generation iPad and does a neat job in covering the tablet’s brushed aluminum finish (that is not scratch-proof). The highlight of the case is the vertical rubber nails running down the back offering mounting solutions. This is an extremely user-friendly feature and an inexpensive mounting choice, compared to the other expensive options available in the market. You even have the option to pick your favorite color. You can choose between neutral (white), classy (blue) and funky (pink and green) colors.

Pro’s and Con’s:

The case has a cutout for the logo: an unnecessary stencil for those who want a complete protection for their iPad and a welcome addition for those who wish to show off the Apple logo. However, the cutout might have to be changed in the future R* Cases production if any legal issues rises. The R* Case is strategically placed in the middle of the shell pack for the iPad protection. The case does not completely cover the four edges.

The exposed silver color combined with the color of the case gives the iPad a very classy look. The case has a sufficient indentation for the ports (the headphone, volume control, side switch, Dock Connector port and Sleep or Wake button). There is enough space between the spine of the optional lid and the plastic which cannot be found with many other lids.
The seven-inch plastic railings of the case have been cleverly lined with rubber so as to offer a firmer grip when mounted. Rather than sabotaging the overall design, it adds charm to the case. Though the R* Case is supposed to have a more user-friendly hold, there is just a marginal difference when compared to other cases. More than ‘holding’ feature, the mounting elements and the 5.5” has an advantageous edge in the R* Case.

The Package and mounting choices:

The Case comes in a package that contains a 4” plastic square bracket that can be attached to wall screws or suction cups. The square bracket helps in mounting your iPad on a flat surface a square masking sheet, offering protection for the outward facing end. You need not attach the bracket every time you wish to mount you iPad, you can simply slide in or slide out your device. This is not the only mounting option; the case is compatible with Claw 4hole and VESA which offers additional mounting choices.

If you want different options to mount, the R* Case offers some interesting choices! As for the price of the cases, they are comparatively less than the other smart mount covers available in the market. In addition to the mounting solutions, it contains additional fixtures for wall installation too.

Though it would be good if Touchns brings a more day-to-day feature to their cases in the next series, they score full points for their low prices. If you don’t wish to shell out too much money to toss you iPad up the wall, R* Case is a good option!
