iPad 3 to iPad 4
The fanaticism of people can sometimes be so extreme just as exhibited by the efficiency by which the iPad 3 became obsolete just mere months after its launch all because the newer iPad 4 was released.

Going back to the iPad 3 and iPad 4, it raises the question of whether the upgrading and switching of the users to the newer model was all worth it.
For those who did not purchase the third version but decided to wait for the fourth one instead, the upgrading may be considered a smart idea.

But what about for those who could not wait to get the new Apple product at the time and decided to go for the iPad 3 right after it was released to the market? The more proper question would be just how exactly does the iPad 4 differ from its older counterpart?

In order to understand this, certain features must be reviewed such as the screen, camera, processor, battery, operating system and the price. For the screen feature, both versions were at a tie as the two come with Apple’s Retina display.

For the camera, the fourth version is considerably better as it actually upgraded the front-facing camera allowing for a full use of the Retina display as well as enabling video chatting, whereas the older iPad only came with a 0.3MP standard definition.

For the processor, it is said that the iPad 4 doubles the performance of CPU tasks as it comes with the latest A6X processor while the iPad 3 only has the dual core A5X. This round, therefore, is a clear win for iPad 4.

Both versions are also at a tie in the battery life aspect as each comes with a battery that can last up to 10 hours. For the iOS, the iPad 4 has the iOS6 while the iPad 3 is launched with the iOS5 albeit it can be upgraded. There is also that issue on the new connecting dock first introduced on the iPhone 5 which basically rendered all older useful iPad accessories useless.

Last but not the least is the price. One might come to expect for the newer one to be a bit pricier, but Apple clearly had other ideas as it launched iPad 4 at the same price as that of iPad 3.

With the minimal changes found, the question of whether it was actually worth it to upgrade is left unanswered, the answers of which can only be left to those who are actually users of such products.
