How To Use Technology To Become Great At Networking

As a business owner you need to make sure you're networking all the time because it's the easiest way to find a lot more success. The easiest way you can do that is by taking advantage of the technology you have at your fingertips.

If you don't start connecting with people soon you could be throwing money away, so we're going to look at a few of the great techniques you can use to get started.

Connect on social media

The reason social media is so great is because everyone has an account these days and most of them will reply when you ask any questions. This means you can slowly build up relationships with them.

Once you have that relationship it's a lot easier to pitch your product to them in the hope they share it with their followers. As an example, if you manufactured a new standing desk you could send one to an influencer once they know you and they might help promote it.

Join a forum

A forum is one of the best places in the world to connect with people who might be interested in your product because you will come to know a lot of them. A forum is a place where people can relax and talk about anything they want.

You might want to join a specialist forum if you sell something like fishing rods. If you sell something more general like office equipment you might be able to join more general forums where people will obviously need desks and chairs.

Private coaching

This one is going to cost a lot more money, but the bonus is that you will get to know someone at a much deeper level. Who do you think would be a great person to help you promote your product? If they are well-known in their industry there is a good chance they offer private one-on-one coaching.

Before you go throwing your money about it's probably better to target people you know already promote other products because it's more likely they will promote yours too.

Send people an email

What happened to sending people regular old emails when you want to make a connection with them? The reason you might not want to do it is because you're scared of being ignored, but you've just got to accept it's going to happen.

You might have to send hundreds of emails and you will only get a few replies, but it's still more replies than you'd get if you did nothing. Just don't ask someone to buy something from you in the first email or you will be ignored.

Write guest posts

You have a product you want to sell and somebody else has a popular website. You want something from them, but what can you give them in return? Why don't you ask to write a guest post for their blog? They get content and it means they also get an extra day off work. You can tell all their readers about your office furniture or your fishing rods and they could come through to your site to buy your product. The guest posts just can't be overly promotional.

You've got it easy

A few years ago it was much harder to network with people because everything needed to be done in-person or over the phone. If you hate sending emails imagine how horrible it would have been cold calling people. The technology we have to today make things easier than ever to network with the people who can help you take your business to the next level, so you better start using it.
